Near infrared spectroscopy (NIR) is an effective, fast and non-destructive tool for analysis and quality control in the food industry. Using NIR technology, the sample, which can be powder, solid, gel or liquid, is irradiated with a near infrared light source to validate its authenticity and determine its characteristics, such as the percentage of protein, moisture, fat or others. The spectrum or result of the analysis is uploaded to the cloud and leaves a digital “fingerprint” of that product.

NIR technology makes it possible for any minimally trained technician to perform quick and easy tests on all types of samples, providing reliable levels of identification and minimizing risks, avoiding human error, increasing food safety standards and establishing an accurate and replicable quality control process.
