Our Mission

Chemometric Brain was born the day a group of experts from various disciplines of analytical science, each with many years’ experience in the field of investigation, decided to channel all of their passion and expertise towards developing a software that might guarantee traceability, in the world of food and nutrition.

Our main mission is to make the use of spectroscopic techniques accessible to any food industry, while applying the experience and knowledge acquired over the past 15 years. We aim to facilitate implementation of said techniques via simple analyses, drawn from our extensive powder-product libraries, in order to provide day-one results in any segment of the food industry; and, as a result, to be able to ensure full traceability, within the value chain, allowing companies to offer end-consumers food that is ever more transparent, fairer, safer and healthier, too.

Our team

Dr. Beatriz Carrasco Gómez

Chemometric Brain CTO
Beatriz has a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Murcia University, Spain (1998) as well as an Honorary PhD in Chemistry Award, at the same university (1998). Beatriz continued her work at Murcia University for 2 years, during which time she published more than 30 scientific articles. In 2001, she worked as a quality and software consultant in the private sector then, in 2004, joined Blendhub (formerly: Premium Ingredients). Blendhub is a multinational ingredients provider delivering the world’s first global food production-center network, offering a fully comprehensive solution for the design, mixing and delivery of food powders and nutrition, both to the industry and to end-consumers. Beatriz ran the Quality Control team for 4 years and, having implemented food safety systems in different continents, was promoted to Director of Global Quality where she was responsible of the Analytical Innovation and Chemometrics Unit applying her 10 years’ experience in the use of NIRS to authenticating raw materials and end-products. While Director of Global Quality, Beartiz created the concept and then developed Chemometric Brain®: an industry-tailored software, whose main function is to conduct powder-product quality and content analyses (both on pure powders and on blends) as well as homogeneity studies, whereby to establish optimum mixing times for specific mix cycle. In January 2020, she was appointed Chemometric Brain, Managing Director.

Dr. Sara Chumillas Lidón

Chemometric Brain Specialist
Sara holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry (2017) and a Bachelor´s degree in Chemistry from the University of Alicante. She has more than 6 years of experience (2010-2017) in R&D of electronic transfer processes of biological molecules with different degrees of complexity. She has extensive experience working with spectroscopic techniques such as Infrared (FTIR), Ultraviolet-Visible (UV-Vis) and Raman spectroscopy. She developed her research work at the University of Alicante (Spain) and the University of Bern (Switzerland). As a result of her research stage, she is author of several scientific publications in specialized journals of international scope. Last two years (2018-2020) she has been working at Bioithas SL being the main responsible of the search and contact with raw materials suppliers for the development of food supplements final products, drafting technical proposals for the financing of R&D activities and managing collaboration requests with research institutes and companies. In June 2020, Sara joined Chemometric Brain® as a Chemometric Brain Specialist.

Mr. Anders S. Kristensen

Chief Financial Officer
Anders has a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Economics from Copenhagen Business School. He has more than 30 years of experience from various specialist and management roles within Finance, Supply Chain and Business Development in several locations across Europe. Last 5 years Anders has been working with Blendhub in Strategy and Business Development roles, supporting the transformation of Blendhub´s commercial profile from a traditional blending house into a service-based food manufacturing company. Prior to this, Anders spent more than 10 years with Mondeléz International participating in the integration of Kraft Foods, Cadbury and Lu Biscuits into a single company with harmonized structures and processes across Europe. All these activities was coordinated out of Zürich with project teams in Copenhagen, Bremen, Birmingham, Paris and Barcelona. Furthermore he held various Finance positions as Finance Controller, Manager and Director in Denmark, UK and Norway within the Concrete and Bicycle Industries.

Mr. Henrik Stamm Kristensen

Chief Executive Officer
Henrik has a degree in International Business by the Copenhagen Business School. His entire professional career has been linked to the agri-food sector. In 1996 he founded his first company, Premium Ingredients, specialized in food ingredients for the food industry. The company evolved from manufacturing to a technology and services platform. With the patent and development of the first Portable Powder Blending unit in 2011 in India, Henrik merged the corporate and entrepreneurial learnings from different companies and technologies into Blendhub, the world’s first multi-localized network of food production hubs, currently with portable factories in Spain, India, Mexico, Colombia and Thailand. He was also the driving force behind allfoodexperts®️, a community of agri-food professionals and experts aiming at changing the current global food production model into a more sustainable one. In 2016 he founded Chemometric Brain as a proprietary software of Blendhub and in January 2020 Chemometric Brain separated into a completely independent organization due to significant interest from many organizations to adopt the technology into their own companies. Henrik is now executive chairman at Chemometric Brain and CEO at Blendhub.

Clara Hermoso Sánchez

Business Development Manager
Clara is a Food engineer with more than 14 years of international experience and expertise in the Food Industry, both in R&D and as Product Management. She stands out for her knowledge in Innovation and its integration in business development, management, product development and food safety and quality control. She started her career at Wageningen University taking care of the training and communication of a Food Safety European Project. Shortly after, she moved to the food industry, and based in The Netherlands, she spent 10 years working for MARS FOOD. Over there, she started as a European Product Developer, followed by 5 years as Quality and Food Safety External Factories Manager where she was responsible of the Quality and Food Safety of 14 factories in EU and 5 in Asia. She finalized her career at Mars as Global Innovation Technical manager. After that she joint Blendhub in 2017 as a Product Manager and Open Innovation Formulation Manager, working close to the Chemometric Brain software. Since January 2021, Clara joint Chemometric Brain® as Business Development Manager.

Ms. Nuria Navarro García

Chemometric Brain Specialist
Nuria has a B.Sc in Biotechnology (2013) and a M.Sc in Biotechnology and Biology of Plant Stress (2014) from the University of Murcia. She worked for 7 years at the Institute of Agriculture and Food Research and Development of Murcia (IMIDA), where she specialized in Citrus Breeding. During that period, she developed new research lines in that department, becoming the chief of the Citrus Molecular Biology team. She also implemented new genetic techniques such as detection of alleles by KASP technology, genomes analysis from NGS sequences, development of new molecular markers or in silico design of specific primers and their experimental validation. Along her career, she has published several scientific articles in high-impact journals, both national and international, and has attended numerous conferences, being a member of the Organizing Committee of the IX Congress of Plant Breeding held in 2018. In order to keep herself constantly updated, she has taken many training courses in specialized techniques applied to research and development. Apart from her research career, she has also participated in several teaching activities such as supervising Chemistry, Biology or Biochemistry intern students from different Spanish and foreign universities or coordinating research projects carried out by high school students from the IDIES program. In June 2020, she joins the Chemometric Brain team.

Mr. Alberto Gil Ballesta

Chemometric Brain Developer
An Engineer in Computer Science, at the Computer Science Faculty at Murcia University (specialty: Information Systems) he developed his End of Degree Project on the implementation and deployment of Big Data infrastructures on Docker. He has extensive experience in mathematical programming languages (Matlab and R), application development in Java, C#/.NET, Javascript, jQuery, Python and management of Microsoft SQL Server databases.

Mr. Carl Watson

Talent Manager
During the start of his professional career, he worked in a Supply Chain Dept at Sabic Innovative Plastics as a Cost Controller. After this experience, he soon realized that his vocation was more focused on working with People, and so he decided to graduate with a BA in Employee Relations & Human Resources (2015) at the University of Murcia. Later that year, he joined Blendhub (formerly: Premium Ingredients) as he was hired as a People & Culture Specialist dealing mainly with Talent Acquisition and gradually went on to become more engaged with other core HR functions. From 2017, he was promoted to a global position in this company as a Talent Manager and progressed in HR functions as participating in cross-functional projects across an international Hub Network. In 2019 he obtained his MBA (2019) from the University of Murcia. At the end of 2020, he joined Chemometric Brain Team as a Talent Manager. His experience in HR has been focused on Talent Acquisition, Culture & Leadership, Competence and Performance, Policy Creation, Training & Development Career Plans, Compensation & Benefits, International (& National) HR Admin, amongst others.
